Two-Piece Back-Up Flange Promotes Efficiency, Provides Strength
The Marzolf™ two-piece, back-up flanges utilize a half-ring design with multiple offsetting laminae with complementary male and female ends on each half-ring. These half-rings (two-piece flange) slide together and interlock, creating the rigidity equal to one-piece rings and share common bolt holes, dispersing bolting pressure to provide a uniform seal. This two-piece back-up flange design was invented by George B. Marzolf, Sr. in 1955 and he patented this unique two-piece flange in 1959.
Marzolf™ two-piece, back-up flanges is an effective substitute to a plastic pipe flange, steel flange, stainless steel flange, and various other materials. The two-piece, back-up flanges are ideal alternatives to standard lap joint of Van Stone style flanges. The two-piece flange eliminates the problem of cutting off and re-welding stub ends, allowing for permanent replacement of failed one-piece rings.
The two-piece, back-up flanges come in standard stock sizes or can be custom made or modified for non-standard dimensions or unique materials.
